So, you may be thinking that I'm beating a dead horse here, but we've all heard that the planet is slowly getting hotter. But do we know the cause?
Almost any source of climate data will tell you that the earth's surface temperatures are climbing. But is this just part of a natural cycle that the planet has been following? After all, there is evidence to suggest that the globe was frozen at one time. Or is the heating caused by burning the dreaded fossil fuels?
According to co2now.org we know that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased by roughly 30% since the 50's. The idea is that the gases act like a greenhouse to trap solar radiation which heats up the air.
The facts are clear carbon dioxide is increasing in the atmosphere faster than our trees can take it out, and temperatures are on the rise. The connection between the two is a logical one, and it wouldn't hurt cut down on our consumption of the pricey liquid, I think our wallets would agree.
