So how can this city continue to operate when every project they do is over cost? Why would we spend $750,000 on a washroom that gets used at most four months of the year?
When the project was put out for tender and there was very little interest to contractors, the only bidder should have been awarded the contract but no wait – they put it out again and that lonely only contractor sees that and rebids higher and gets the contract and makes more money?
I commend the city councillors who voted against this absurd expensive project and who tried to put a cheaper option forward.
