Letter to the editor: City infrastructure as bad as ever

There haven't been major improvements to cycling lanes, repairing sidewalks, or introducing more flashing light crosswalks for pedestrians.

Sidewalk repaving.

Having returned to Prince George after almost 15 years away, I'm still amazed at how poor the cycling and walking infrastructure is here. There haven't been major improvements to cycling lanes, repairing sidewalks, or introducing more flashing light crosswalks for pedestrians.

For instance, the crosswalk on Westwood entering Pine Centre Mall is very dangerous as a pedestrian and there's absolutely no measures in place to improve visibility for drivers as people are crossing.

If we want to entice people to be active, we have to evolve from being a vehicle-friendly city and upgrade our roads desperately.
