When is the city going to wake up and finish installing the traffic lights at Ferry Avenue and Ospika Boulevard? There has been another serious accident along the stretch of Highway 16 West between Ferry Avenue and Vance Road.
I live close to the intersection of Ferry and Ospika and every time there is an accident along this stretch of highway traffic gets detoured up Ferry Avenue to Ospika Boulevard.
With no traffic control lights, this detour from the highway turns this intersection into a very real traffic hazard.
At the present time, it is actually taking some of the larger vehicles 10-15 minutes to manage the left turn from Ferry Avenue onto Ospika Boulevard.
Three hours after Friday's accident and the traffic was still lined up down Ferry as far as the eye can see.
The city or the RCMP put a flag person at the intersection for approximately seven minutes before they were pulled for one reason or another.
People in the line ups were getting very frustrated and taking some very dangerous chances getting onto Ospika.
Please, please, please. Is a life not worth the cost of a set of control lights?
The light standards and all the wiring were installed some years ago. It is just a case of finishing the job. So let's get with it and get the job done!
