Lizzy a sign of disrespect for Queen

It speaks poorly for the local paper and its editor when on the front page I read one story chastising a Vancouver radio station for its lack of respect for Prince George and it's citizens.

It speaks poorly for the local paper and its editor when on the front page I read one story chastising a Vancouver radio station for its lack of respect for Prince George and it's citizens. Yet on the same page show a similar lack of respect for the Queen by calling her Lizzy. It does not matter whether you support the monarchy in Canada or not. What truly matters is showing respect for all people as is written into our laws of Canada. After all, the Queen herself has always shown great respect for everyone. Should that courtesy not be returned?

It is a proven fact that disrespect in one form leads to disrespect in others and can eventually promote hate crimes because disrespect has by then become the norm. I would suggest that if the P.G. Citizen wants to continue winning awards, then it should also endeavour to set an example to the community by maintaining a high standard of respect for all. Something I think our politicians should also aspire to.
