Re: "Enbridge Lashes Out" (P.G. Citizen, May 19), the arrogance, condescension and hypocrisy of Enbridge spokespersons in the media appears unparalleled among the extractive industries.
It is revolting that an Alberta-based corporation which has amassed $100 million to grease the regulatory skids for their tar sands pipeline and oil tanker scheme actually has the gall to level baseless charges of profiteering against British Columbian conservation groups which are opposing the debacle in the making known as "Northern Gateway."
By the way, Enbridge refuses to disclose exactly who has invested the aforementioned $100 million war chest.
Enbridge continues to treat B.C. as if it were some banana republic they can simply buy off, hoodwink and muzzle in order to pursue their profit-at-any-cost agenda.
Equally contemptible is the Enbridge strategy of cynically wrapping themselves in the flag with their cloying "Northern Gateway will deliver tremendous economic benefit to all of Canada."
No, that would be your shareholders and secret investors Enbridge, not our country.
