Pictures were disrespectful

You do not need to have picture's like that to tell a compelling story (for examples read "Extraordinary Evil" by Barbara Coloroso or "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide" by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn)

Followed by that condescending editorial on Tuesday, I am convinced that you will not "effect change," but only cause controversy. I think the only good thing that editorial mentioned was the part about writing to MLAs, MPs, etc. I'm afraid, though, that this idea will be lost in the sensationalism and controversy of this story.

You were trying to sell a newspaper. That young person's body should not have been used to sell your paper. That individual's family should not have been subjected to even more pain by having that image staring at them all across the city. (They may have not even known about their family members death until they saw your picture.) Disgusting, shameful.

Use your paper to tell stories. Share the accomplishments of individuals and groups who are making a positive change in this community. Research ideas used by other people to curb violence in their own communities and share their ideas.

Prince George, write letters to your MLAs and MPs about problems you want them to help take care of.

Support the RCMP. Respect and value your neighbourhoods and city. And let's take care of those who need care. Sometimes a smile is all that is required.
