There seems to be a high number of drivers that are ignoring the rules of the road or need a refresher.
That eight-sided sign that's red with white lettering? That's a stop sign, not a pause sign.
It means that you are required to come to a complete stop and wait for traffic to clear before proceeding (and when it's a three or four way stop, you need to wait your turn).
An amber light means that you stop unless it is unsafe to do so. When you are in a school zone, you must not exceed the posted speed limit. This is in effect 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday when school is in session.
Most of all, please curb the speeding. The streets are icy and doing 10 or more km/h above the limit is just asking for a crash to happen.
Is a serious injury or death really worth saving a few minutes?
