The gravy train has screeched to a halt

I have been giving to charities all of my adult life, without question, until lately.

I have been giving to charities all of my adult life, without question, until lately. I wonder just how much of it is really going into research and the real causes?

On average, I get a phone call or mail, asking for donations at least two or three times a week. What I object to mostly is the mail outs, including Christmas cards, all occasion cards, note pads, pens and labels with my name and address on them. (I have enough of these to last a couple of life times.)

I will be returning them from now on. The needy are still needy and the research is very slow.

Where is all this money going? Please don't spend any of the donations on such things. Put all of it where it is meant to go. These useless gifts will not prompt me to send more than I can afford, so just stop sending them.

Thank you!
