Too little, too late!

If you didn't know already, you do now, that lap dancing or simulated lap dancing in a school gathering is not a good thing, especially if you are a teacher.

If you didn't know already, you do now, that lap dancing or simulated lap dancing in a school gathering is not a good thing, especially if you are a teacher.

A pair of Manitoba teachers found this out recently (something they should have known already), after a video of them engaged in the simulated lap dancing at a school pep rally went viral on YouTube and other similar sites on the Internet.

What possessed them to do this, especially at a school rally, boggles the mind, and a brief moment where they simulated oral sex would suggest that their chosen careers as educators of our youth would be out the proverbial window.

The video (taken by students) had two million hits in the first couple of days, and amongst the cries of shock and horror that two teachers would do something so stupid in front of the whole school, there was also a lot of laughter, but more from the shock of it all.

One of the teachers, Adeil Ahmed will not have his short-term contract renewed (shock), and Chrystie Fitchner's resignation has also been accepted.

There are however two questions remaining: Why did they do something so stupid, and why did it take the school district so long to get rid of them?

Nobody knows the answer to the first question, and the second one is even harder to answer because the school didn't even do anything to get rid of them.

Ahmed's short-term contract was not renewed, which means he wasn't fired, and Fitchner wasn't fired either, she resigned.

This then leaves the door open for these two to work elsewhere in the Manitoba school system or school systems in other provinces.

Although this is certainly not the worst thing someone has done who worked for a school district, it is still unacceptable behaviour for a teacher, and the behaviour of the school district to simply let one resign and the other just not have his contract renewed is just ridiculous.

It seems some may be afraid of repercussions or lawsuits for a decision that any sane person would agree with, but such is our society.
