Trustees passing the buck

I sit here shocked and stunned that SD 57 has decided to shut down one of the best schools in the district, John McInnis junior secondary.

Rather than trimming the administrative fat, the SD 57 trustees have chosen to convert JMc for more district office space. I'm sure that is to their benefit, but it does nothing for the community.

Why do we pay school taxes when the district simply takes the money and tries to play one neighbourhood against another? I am not impressed by Lois Boone pointing her finger at Gordon Campbell, when the school district has wasted an enormous amount of money. Why not point the finger at yourselves and take some of the blame rather then just passing the buck.

So, where do we go from here? I think we need to make it clear that the board members are elected to serve the people of Prince George, rather than themselves. I am disgusted they even mentioned expanding their own office space when all the rest of us have to tighten our belts.

If we, as the taxpayers, are going to be on the hook for the operation of John McInnis, why not use it for the purpose for which it was intended, to actually educate the students of the community. It is a shame that the district has placed their own needs above those of the students.
