Prince George's Hindu community held one of four annual Navrati celebrations on Friday, Oct. 4
They gathered outside the Northern Sports Centre to take a blessing from the the goddess Durga, with Aarti (Celebration of Lights) before moving inside for the traditional circle dance around the shrine.
Durga is worshipped to celebrate the victory of good over evil and represents the return of balance and well being.
There are four Navratri celebrations throughout the year with the autumnal one coinciding with the celebration of Durga's victory over evil.
