Rosalyn Bird’s journey to becoming a candidate for the Conservative Party of BC is rooted in a lifetime of dedication, service, and leadership.

From her early days in the Sea Cadets to her remarkable career in the Canadian Armed Forces, Rosalyn has continually demonstrated a commitment to teamwork, duty, and integrity. Now, as she seeks to represent the people of Prince George-Valemount, she brings her wealth of experience and strong principles to the forefront.
                                              
A Career of Service and Success
Rosalyn’s career began in 1990 when she joined the Canadian Forces as a Boatswain. Her drive and commitment soon led her to re-classify as a Resource Management Clerk, where her skills in logistics and operations began to shine. In 2005, she was commissioned as a Naval Logistics Officer, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Over her 22 plus years of service, Rosalyn played pivotal roles in multiple operations, including NATO deployments and critical support missions in Afghanistan and Southeast Asia. She served across Canada, from British Columbia to Nova Scotia, and even in the Arctic at CFS Alert on Ellesmere Island. Rosalyn sailed on: HMCS Nipigon, HMCS Huron, HMCS Algonquin, and HMCS Ottawa, demonstrating her adaptability and commitment in various demanding environments.

Her career in the Canadian Forces was not just about duty but also about building relationships, honing leadership skills, and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her country. These qualities, she believes, are what will make her an effective representative for Prince George-Valemount.

From Service to Public Leadership

Rosalyn never initially planned to enter politics, but her deep belief in the power of ethical leadership inspired her to take up this new challenge. With core values of Duty, Loyalty, Integrity, and Courage, Rosalyn feels it is her duty to step forward and offer her experience, problem solving abilities and leadership to the residents of Prince George-Valemount.

Her experience in logistics, critical thinking, and strategic planning makes her uniquely qualified to tackle the challenges facing the region. From addressing housing and infrastructure issues to improving healthcare access, Rosalyn is ready to be a strong voice for the people.
