A B.C. man is keeping a close eye on the real estate listings after winning more than $500,000 in a Lotto Max draw last month.

Jamie Rennie matched all six numbers and a bonus number on Oct. 6 after purchasing a ticket at the Save-On-Foods on Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam.

“The first thought that crossed my mind was disbelief,” Rennie said. “I could not believe it.”

He added that he has played the lotto for years and picks numbers based on the birthdays of family members. Winning, Rennie said, feels “amazing” and he is hoping to put his winnings toward purchasing a new home.

“This win means a lot to me,” he said.

In 2020, B.C. residents have claimed more than $85 million in Lotto Max prize money. The game is played nationwide with draws on Tuesdays and Fridays.
