Woody debris along the western fence line adjacent to Pinnacles Provincial Park in Quesnel will be cleared and burned to help reduce wildfire risk in the area, the B.C. Wildfire Service says.
The work is scheduled to begin today and continue until June 22.
"The decision on when to burn will depend on weather, site and venting conditions," BCWS says.
Smoke from the piles may be visible from Quesnel and the surrounding areas but the burns must comply with regulations to limit the impact on air quality in nearby communities and BCWS personnel will be on site to control and monitor the burn piles.
