A man now faces charges in connection with a seizure of a "large amount" of allegedly counterfeit cash from a Fort St. James home.

Counts of uttering or using counterfeit money and possessing counterfeit money have been approved against Daniel Jordan Daley, born in 1992, according to court records.

The step is in relation to an August 2022 investigation that RCMP said began when a business in the town of 1,900 people 150 kilometres west of Prince George alerted them to a discovery of suspected funny money.

With the help of surveillance video, police said some some suspects were identified and traced to a home. The cash was seized when a search warrant was subsequent executed.

Daley has a criminal record, mostly for gun-related offences committed in Fort St. James. He is scheduled to make a first appearance on the matter at the end of next month.
