Prince George fire rescue

Prince George Fire Rescue kept a fire from spreading beyond a home's garage early morning Monday.

Alerted by a witness shortly after 3 a.m., firefighters from two halls were called to the home on Pioneer Avenue at Ospika Boulevard where they found the attached garage on fire.

"The crews were able to quickly contain the fire to the garage, performing a quick attack preventing the fire to advance into the home," PGFR said in a press release.

Damages were estimated at $20,000 on the home, valued at about $344,000.

No one was home at the time and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
