AIrports across Canada celebrated the inaugural Airport Workers Day Wednesday.
“By celebrating the dynamic and diverse people who work in our airports, we aim to shine a light on the many career opportunities that are possible within Canada’s aviation sector. Airport Workers Day represents our gratitude for the more than 200,000 people who work, day in and day out, to keep Canadians and our economy moving,” said Monette Pasher, president of the Canadian Airports Council.
This celebration will be part of a coordinated national event led by the Canadian Airport Council (CAC), in coordination with 35 Canadian airports showing appreciation for airport staff with in-person events taking place at airports throughout the day.
The Prince George Airport will be celebrating all the people that make the day-to-day operation of YXS possible with a community barbecue while showcasing new equipment and emergency response vehicle shelter; a state-of-the-art runway sweeper and a Rosenbauer Panther fire truck made possible through funding from the Airport Capital Assistance Program.
