A man who refused to pull over for police has been prohibited from driving for one year.

Bradley Arthur Denie Collier, 38, was also sentenced to a further six days in jail for leading police on a chase during the early morning of Feb. 14.

Police have said Collier was driving erratically when RCMP noticed his SUV near the intersection of Burden Street and Fifth Avenue. Rather that stopping, he headed west on Highway 16 and continued to evade police for several minutes until police actions successfully stopped him on Tony Road near Helene Road, near the Westgate subdivision.

The sentence was issued Thursday on counts of dangerous driving and fleeing police. He had remained in custody since his arrest 15 days prior.

Police have described Collier as a chronic offender.
