The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is set to host a free concert featuring musician Alex Cuba on Nov. 9 at 8 p.m.

The intimate performance will take place at the NUSC Event Space/Thirsty Moose.

Organized by the President’s Office, this event provides a unique opportunity for attendees to enjoy Cuba’s award-winning fusion of Latin rhythms, pop, and soul in a personal setting.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Alex Cuba back to UNBC,” said UNBC president Geoff Payne. “His music reflects the diversity and connection that our community embodies. This concert will not only showcase his incredible talent but also highlight the importance of shared experiences in fostering community spirit.”

Cuba, a multi-award-winning artist, is celebrated for his distinctive sound that intertwines his Cuban heritage with modern influences. This performance marks his first visit to the Prince George campus since he received an honorary doctor of laws degree from UNBC earlier this year.

“I’m honoured to return to UNBC, a place that holds a special place in my heart,” said Cuba. “Music has a unique power to bring people together, and I look forward to sharing that connection with the UNBC community during this intimate performance.”

Tickets for the concert will be available for free starting at 10 a.m. on Oct. 10. Due to limited availability, the university recommend fans secure their tickets promptly to avoid missing out on this exciting event.
