The Fabulous 50s, Moments to Remember, will take the audience on a musical trip back to every song they ever loved in the 50s as Forever Young Chorus performs at the Elder Citizens Rec Centre on May 5 and 7.
“The audience will know every song, I would think,” choral director Janice Taylor said about the upcoming performance.
Throughout the performance choir members will provide some interesting 50s tidbits of information they will share with the audience and there will be a 50s collage of photos on display of the choir members for a guess who is who from the photos to the choir members singing on stage.
“Several members of the choir have said they just love the songs we’ve been working on because it’s their era,” Taylor said about the 43-member choir.
Costumes include poodle skirts and pedal pushers, high school sweaters along with some saddle shoes, penny loafers and bobby socks, a turned up cuff on dungarees and the audience will perhaps even see a ducktail or two sported by some of the dozen or so men in the chorus.
The show goes Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, children under 12 are $5 each. Tickets are available at the Elder Citizens Rec Centre, 1692 Tenth Ave.
