It’s a dream come true for one singer songwriter to perform with the PG Symphony Saturday night at Vanier Hall.

Kym Gouchie, along with Rachelle Van Zanten and Amy Blanding, will star in PG Symphony Session: Shun uts’utejun – playing music together.

“This is a really big deal,” Gouchie said. “I’ve actually visualized myself on a stage with an orchestra and it still doesn’t feel like it’s real. When I look at the musicians and I listen to the arrangements that were sent to me by Simon (Cole, clarinetist, composer) and I can hear my song in there, it’s huge. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and in this situation I kind of feel like a new budding musician amongst all this amazingness. To be able to amplify the messages in my songs, I think is what I’m most excited about.”

It's going to be a very powerful experience for the performers and the audience, Gouchie added.

“I can’t wait to sit back and actually listen to the performances and I know it’s going to be epic,” Gouchie said.

It starts with making music and getting to know these three wonderful artists, Michael Hall, PGSO music director, said. “These three artists always have an important message, often talking about the environment we live in, so it’s very appealing to people from the North.”

The showcase celebrating local artistry will feature orchestral arrangements of the songwriters original songs by Simon Cole.

Tickets are available at PG Symphony Session tickets.
