Prince George’s newest grocery store opens Friday at 8 a.m.

The finishing touches are currently being put on Buy-Low Foods in the former Save-On location at Parkwood Place, left vacant after Save-On opened a new store at the Pine Centre Mall. Both chains are owned by Pattison Food Group.

In a press release, the company offers a look at what customers will find at the discount grocer. The store will feature a discount and deals aisle called the Drop Zone and bulk quantities in the Caselot aisle and the bulk food section.

“We are so excited to open Buy-Low Foods Parkwood on Friday,” stated store manager Taylor Towers in a press release. “The team can’t wait for our customers to see the savings, value and service we offer Prince George – and give away freebies and great prizes to celebrate our grand opening.”

Grand opening celebrations take place all weekend, with the first 100 customers of the day on Friday and Saturday receiving a $10 gift card, along with Spin and Win giveaways on Saturday.

Until June 28, customers can also enter the Groceries for a Year contest, which will see one randomly drawn lucky customer win $5,200 in gift cards.

“It’s a great day for the folks in Prince George, as well as our team on the ground in Parkwood,” said Darrell Jones, president of Pattison Food Group. “We are thrilled to offer our neighbours great prices every day on their groceries and essentials, and support our local community wherever possible.”

Buy-Low Foods Parkwood is located at 1600 15th Avenue and will open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
