39-year-old found dead

The North District Major Crime Unit from Prince George and the Alexis Creek RCMP are investigating the death of 39-year-old Morris Lawrence Lulua in the First Nations community of Redstone, located about 65 km west of Alexis Creek.

The deceased was located outdoors in that community on Feb. 21. An investigation continues and and an autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Alexis Creek RCMP at 250-394-4211.

A 32-year-old woman from Whitehorse was killed Feb. 21 while snowmobiling in the Carcross area. Police responded to a call of an injured snowmobiler at 3:30 p.m. as did medical personnel and search & rescue members, but upon arrival, found the woman had died.

The woman was driving a two-person snow machine with a passenger at the time. It appears that the driver had crested a small hill and then dropped a few feet coming to a sudden halt. The deceased was wearing an approved helmet at the time. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident. Officials are continuing to investigate and the name of the victim has not been released.
