Alberta man goes missing near Red Rock

A full-scale search for a missing Alberta man was launched this morning in the Red Rock area. Douglas Wayne Bruynzeel, 53, had left a relative's home on Patterson Road East on Wednesday to search of his dog that went missing the day before.

A full-scale search for a missing Alberta man was launched this morning in the Red Rock area.

Douglas Wayne Bruynzeel, 53, had left a relative's home on Patterson Road East on Wednesday to search of his dog that went missing the day before.

When Bruynzeel failed to return, Prince George RCMP were called at 9:40 p.m. and a ground search was conducted in the darkness without success.

The search was resumed at 7 a.m. today with the help of Prince George Search and Rescue and Emergency Management B.C. Weather permitting; a search from the air will also be conducted.

Bruynzeel is described as caucasian, 180 cm (5'11") tall, weighing 93 kgs (205 lbs) with blue eyes and brown hair, but currently bald.

Bruynzeel had left on foot and his vehicle was still in the driveway.

Anyone who might have seen Bruynzeel since he went missing is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
