Here's your chance to own an oil on velvet of poker playing dogs.

An evening of "bad art for good pets" will be held on Thurs., May 27 at Nancy O's restaurant downtown - a silent auction to raise money for the local branch of the B.C. Society for Protection of Cruelty to Animals.

There will also be a dog cocktail and a cat cocktail available to help the evening go by.

"Whichever one sells the most will determine and end the age old battle between the two," said organizer Bryndis Ogmundson.

Auction winners must pay for their works up front, "so bring cash," she added.

The event starts at 7 p.m. and tickets, which are $10 each are available at Nancy O's and Books and Company. Nancy O's is located at 1261 Third Avenue.
