The age range for those looking to book a COVID-19 immunization appointment in the north has expanded.
As of today (March 10), Northern Health residents aged 80 and older can now call to schedule a vaccination.

Monday (March 8) was the first day of registration for eligible seniors aged 90 or older and Indigenous persons 65 years or older, in which Northern Health successfully booked 1,007 appointments.
The authority says its goal is to administer as many as 15,000 doses through clinics in Phase Two of its immunization plan.

According to B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix, the province booked another 14,830 appointments yesterday (March 9).
This means, between the first two days, the grand total is just shy of 30,000 at 29,779.
Call centres closed today at 7pm adding another 14,830 bookings in the province bringing us to 29,779 total.

Dix also says the province has vaccinated 20,000 of the 48,000 seniors 90 years and older through phases one and two of the rollout.

On days one and two of booking people into phase two vaccine clinics we have made 29,779 appointments.
Northern Health saw 792 immunization appointments booked yesterday for a total of 1,799 in two days.
The regional authority says vaccinations are expected to begin throughout the region as early as March 15, 2021.
When calling during your time of eligibility, you will be asked to provide the following:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Postal Code
- Personal Health Number
Cell Centre hours are seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those in Northern Health who are eligible to book are asked to call 1-844-255-7555.
Family members can book on behalf of seniors who may not feel comfortable scheduling their vaccinations on their own.
There is only one clinic currently in operation, which is at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.
