After seeing Northern Health's COVID-19 positivity rate decline over the past few weeks, it's now heading in the opposite direction.
According to the latest BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) data, as of Sunday (March 7), the authority's seven-day moving average now sits at 12 per cent.
The region's new rating is an uptick of less than one per cent as its last calculation was 11.1 per cent on March 1.
In comparison, Island Health currenty sits at 2.8 per cent, Vancouver Coastal Health at 7.1 per cent, Fraser Health at 7.6 per cent and Interior Health at 4.2 per cent.
The provincial positivity rate has also risen slightly to 6.6 from 6.3 per cent a week ago
As of this publication (March 9), Northern Health has recorded 4,901 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic hit the region on March 14, 2020.
There are currently 12 people admitted into critical care or ICU with the virus, equalling 70 per cent of the 17 total hospitalizations.
Active cases have also seen a spike in recent days, now at 318.
A total of 109 lives have been lost to the virus with no new deaths since Friday (March 5), while 4,462 cases have been classified as fully recovered.
