Campfires and any other backyard open fires, including those in fire pits, will be banned in Quesnel starting noon Thursday as part of the region-wide effort to prevent wildfires.
The prohibition was announced Tuesday, a day after similar bans were announced by the provincial government for the Prince George and Cariboo fire centres and by the City of Prince George.
All four bans will come into effect at the same time.
