Canada Post suspended mail delivery in Prince George on Thursday, for the safety of its employees.

In an email, a Canada Post spokesperson said the post office attempted to operate deliveries, but was forced to suspend service due to unsafe weather conditions.

“Due to the large accumulations of snow and uncleared streets, we have had to unfortunately suspend delivery in Prince George for the rest of the day,” the spokesperson said. “There was a delivery attempt under the yellow delivery service alert but due to the conditions, we’ve had to re-issue the red delivery service alert in Prince George. The safety of our employees remains our number one priority.”

Mail delivery was also suspended on Wednesday.
