Canfor. Corp is closing its finger-joint plant at its Clear Lake sawmill, which will eliminate 15 jobs.
The decision was made for economic reasons, as the plant has been dragging down the bottom line of the Clear Lake sawmill southwest of the city for some time, Canfor spokesperson Dave Lefebvre said Friday.
The company expects that some workers at the finger-joint plant will find jobs in the sawmill, while others will be offered severance.
