By many measures, the British Columbia's lumber industry's relatively-recent foray into the Chinese lumber market has been a success.

The industry hasn't done it alone - getting help from the British Columbia and Canadian governments - but among the accomplishments in the past several years have been the establishment of government-to-government relationships, the adoption of a national wood building code, co-operation on wood demonstration projects, the introduction of wood-construction skills training and the emergence of a wholesale supply network.
