Christmas in downtown will be depicted in a different way by the Elder Citizens Recreation Association's drama club during a special event.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas Downtown is a pantomime drama about street people celebrating Christmas in the best ways they can; even around a bonfire where they toast the season and each other's health by clinking soup cans instead of glasses.

The drama, which includes ECRA's Country Cousins singing group, happens following traditional Christmas dinners set for Saturday and Sunday at the centre, 1692 10th Ave. at 5 p.m. There will also be a sing-a-long of Christmas carols. Advance tickets at the centre are $16 each and there's seating for 150 dinner guests each evening. The centre is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. week days.

**ECRA offers Christmas is Coming, a family concert, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. featuring the centre's Forever Young Chorus and Gospel Singers. The concert will be followed by coffee, tea and goodie bags for all the youngsters that the oldsters hope to see in attendance.

Admission is by donation to ensure that everyone can afford to participate in the Yule tide season.
