City of Prince George posts updated Moccasin Flats road map

Residents of the downtown encampment warned to remove belongings or structures from roadway path

The city is posting a revised notice to warn residents of the Moccasin Flats encampment along Lower Patricia Boulevard that work crews will be in the area on Monday to clear a roadway to allow emergency vehicle access.

The notice posted at each campsite Wednesday by two city staff members contains an updated aerial photograph with the roadway marked by two solid red lines to show where the road will be built. The original notice had incorrect information used to identify the road on the map.

On Monday, city crews will be in the area upgrading the road surface and installing concrete barriers to outline the road’s path.

The notice reads: “All structures and materials must be removed from the roadway by 7 a.m. on May 15. Anything remaining on the roadway will be moved aside by heavy machinery.

“Nothing will be seized or disposed of over the course of the work. Once the roadway has been cleared, it must be clear at all times.”

More information is available through the civic operations or bylaw services departments by calling 3-1-1.
