Negotiations between the College of New Caledonia and the faculty association that represents 550 instructional staff at CNC will resume today.

College of New Caledonia faculty won’t be picketing outside its Prince George and area campuses but they will be working to rule as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The 550 faculty members have been in a strike position since Sunday, after serving 72-hour strike notice last Thursday afternoon.

Since then, negotiations have continued and more talks are scheduled between the faculty and the college.

“A work to rule is generally defined as an action in which employees perform their duties strictly to the letter of their contract,” the college said in a release. “This means that any impacts on classes and services provided by faculty will be minor.”
