Another soon-to-be graduate of junior hockey will spend his last season with the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The team made a trade with the Penticton Vees this morning (June 10) for Darwin Lakoduk, bringing in a second veteran player in seven days to help bolster the lineup with experience in hopes of a deep playoff run for the 2020-21 season.

The 20-year-old forward is also an NCAA-committed player, set to join American International College in Fall 2021.

“Darwin is a tremendous young man who brings a great work ethic to the rink every day,” Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes said in a news release.

“He is good on both ends of the ice and will be looked upon to provide leadership while playing in all situations for us this upcoming season.”

Lakoduk has 113 BCHL games under his belt with three different teams, mustering 17 goals and 36 points since jumping to the junior ‘A’ level.

Last year, he split his season with Victoria and Penticton.

In exchange for the Edmonton product, Prince George is sending future considerations to the Vees.
