Prince George RCMP were called to a suspicious occurrence on the 1700 block of Yew Street on July 29th at 7:36 p.m. Once on scene, officers located a deceased 49 year old male.
Police are treating this death as suspicious.
A 45 year old male is currently in police custody and is a person of interest. Investigators are in contact with Regional Crown Counsel to determine if Criminal Code charges are warranted in this matter.
The identity of the deceased in being withheld at this time, pending notification of next of kin. The first appearance date of the suspect is not yet known.
An autopsy will be conducted at a later date.
Police and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.
