Decision against nanny service upheld

A Supreme Court justice has upheld a B.C. Employment Standards Tribunal decision that orders a Prince George supplier of live-in Filipino nannies and caregivers to repay nearly $26,000 it charged its employees for finding them work.

A Supreme Court justice has upheld a B.C. Employment Standards Tribunal decision that orders a Prince George supplier of live-in Filipino nannies and caregivers to repay nearly $26,000 it charged its employees for finding them work.

In a reasons for judgment issued Wednesday, Justice Robert Sewell agreed that Prince George Nannies and Caregivers Ltd. contravened a section of the Employment Standards Act that prohibits the practice.
