A 37-year-old man pleaded guilty in Prince George Provincial Court on Thursday, Jan. 2 to two counts of possession of stolen property in excess of $5,000.

Christopher Ross Dunk was charged after RCMP arrested him for driving a stolen black 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a stolen 2022 Continental box trailer.

Court heard that, at approximately 3 a.m. on July 23, 2023, an RCMP officer observed the truck and trailer travelling eastbound on Highway 16 at a high speed. The trailer’s tail lights were not working.

The officer tried to pull the driver over, but the pickup truck failed to stop and continued to be driven southbound on Highway 97.

The vehicle and trailer were found abandoned on Bowron Road. Police dogs eventually located Dunk, who was arrested.

Judge Martin Nadon set Jan. 16 as Dunk’s next court date.
