Eight new COVID-19 deaths in B.C., Northern Health records another 43 cases

The up and down COVID-19 number trend continues. 

In a written statement, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced another 625 COVID-19 cases in B.C.during the past 24 hours. 

The province's grand total now sits at 55,254 since the pandemic hit a year ago. 

Of the newly announced cases, Northern Health has added 43, which brings the recorded total to 2,274.

There are 6,343 people listed as active for COVID-19 throughout the province, 381 are in hospital with 78 in critical care.

A total of 46,728 have been classified as fully recovered.

Henry announced another eight deaths in B.C in the past day which raises the fatality rate to 962.
