A fire in the greenhouse of a residential home in the North Nechako area Sunday afternoon destroyed the structure.
Occupants of the house were home at the time of the fire, around 4 p.m. Sunday but by the time they noticed the blaze it was out of control.
Garden hoses were used by the residents and their neighbours to keep the fire from spreading. It scorched the vegetation and a fence in close proximity and a 10-metre pine tree adjacent to the structure burst into flame but no other damage occurred.
Prince George Fire Rescue responded with two trucks and put the fire out within minutes of their arrival.
