Flair Airlines' seasonal service from Prince George to Tucson, Ariz., is coming to an end and the company is assuring passengers it will fly from YXS this Friday.

Flair Airlines’ scheduled flight service from Prince George to Tucson is coming to an end for this winter and the company wants to reassure passengers booked on its season-ending round trip to Arizona on Friday that it will be there for them.

The Edmonton-based airline was forced to cancel its flight from YXS to Tucson last Friday due to staffing issues, forcing passengers booked on the jet to postpone or cancel their spring break travel plans to the desert destination.

While travelers from Prince George could not be accommodated, the company flew to Tucson on Saturday to pick up passengers left stranded overnight and brought them back that day to Prince George.

“It is unfortunate, but we did have a flight attendant call in sick,” said a Flair Airlines spokesperson.

Friday’s flight is scheduled to leave Prince George at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in Tucson at 3:50 p.m. The return flight on Friday, March 24 leaves Tucson at 6:40 a.m. and gets to Prince George at 10:45 a.m.

That will be the last flight of the season for Flair, which introduced the Prince George-Tucson service in December.

The low-cost airline has taken plenty of heat this week after four of its Boeing 737 Max jets were seized over the weekend after Flair missed some of its fleet lease payments. Flair has since filed a $50 million lawsuit against several leasing companies over what it claims was an unlawful seizure.
