Floor Wars; New Prince George Senior Lacrosse season begins next month

Start to 2019 was delayed due to Spruce Kings’ playoff success

Break out the runners and the dust off the sticks, Prince George.

The 2019 season for Prince George Senior Lacrosse is back in action on May 1, one week from today (April 24), with five teams battling for the Dale Rolufs Memorial Trophy.

The ‘C’ league initially planned to start the year tonight, but decided that, due to the success of the Prince George Spruce Kings in the B.C. Hockey League (BCHL) playoffs and their run to a first Fred Page Cup in team history, they would move the season opener to the beginning of May.

Westwood Pub Devils are looking for a ‘three-peat’ after winning the last two seasons.

They’ll open the year by squaring off with the Quesnel Crossfire next Wednesday (May 1), 8 p.m. from Kin 2 Arena in Prince George.

The defending-champion Devils will also play in the final game of 2019, which is scheduled for June 26 before the post-season begins.

The three other teams suiting up are:

  • Northland Nissan Assault
  • RPR Mechanical/BX Pub Bandits
  • Mackenzie Lumberjacks

Kin 2 will host six total games, Kin 1 will see 20 contests, and there will be 14 combined games on the road in Mackenzie and Quesnel.
