The Little Prince train at Fort George Park, also known as Dinky No. 1, is available for free rides this long weekend to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

The repairs on the train have been completed, including replacing two steam injectors. Conductor Steve will be waiting for guests to come to the station from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday to Monday.

"It has been a long process to work through," said Tracy Calogheros, CEO of the Exploration Place and The Fort George Railway. "The Safety Authority has been wonderful, our sponsors and city hall have been supportive and understanding and we are now ready to share our success with the public."

The train ride takes about 15 minutes and is free as a thank you to all those people who have been so patient this year.

Inclement weather could become an issue. To check if the train is running, call the museum at 250-562-1612.
