Four arrests after RCMP raid home, business

Police find guns, money and drugs

The RCMP Emergency Response Team was busy Monday, Feb. 24, executing two search warrants just hours apart.

The incidents led to the arrests of four people.

Prince George RCMP and the North District Emergency Response Team used a warrant to search a home on the 4100 block of First Avenue.

Police used used tear gas and flashbangs. An armoured vehicle and a police robot were also used at the scene.

Five hours later, at around 8 p.m., a second search warrant was executed under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a commercial unit in the 400 block of George Street, related to the same investigation, police said.

“Three people were arrested at the First Avenue residence and were later released pending the results of the full investigation,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for the Prince George RCMP. "One man was arrested from the commercial unit and is being held in custody until his next court appearance."

Multiple firearms, a large amount of Canadian currency, illicit substances and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized as the two search warrants were executed, Cooper said.

The investigation is ongoing.
