Prince George Mayor and Council will sit down for their regularly scheduled meeting, where they will discuss the first steps in bringing a B.C. Cannabis store to town.
The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch has applied to open a cannabis store in College Heights near Walmart.
Council will have to vote on passing the first and second readings of a zoning bylaw that would allow the store to exist in that spot.
Another hot topic will be the city’s monthly building permit data, as the value in building permits for 2018 is at an all-time high.
Matt Mason form Fortis B.C. will be giving an update on the company’s initiatives and projects in the city and council will discuss the launch of a new 311 service that will make it easier for residents to contact the city.
Council will also receive a petition from group of residents from the Southridge area which voices opposition against the opening of Marleau Road which has been closed to vehicle traffic for 18 years.
