Glen Mikkelsen, CN Centre Manager and Vice-Chair for the championships, says there will be lots of volunteers to help make the tournament as successful as it can be.

“We’re super-pleased that we have our full contingent of almost 400 volunteers and we’ve got people coming from all over the country,” he said following the official line-up announcement on Jan. 21.

“We’ve got people coming from Ontario to volunteer for us, we’ve got people coming from all over Alberta, throughout British Columbia; they’ve committed the time and expense to come to Prince George to be involved with the event.”

They've even had a ticket-buyer from Switzerland contact the box office to come to the tournament.

“We were taking an inquiry from a ticket buyer who was over in Switzerland and worked with our box office. It took about an hour-and-a-half to get everything sorted out as far as communicating and getting things figured out, but sure enough, already we’re having people buying tickets from around the globe to come here in two months.”

New tickets were also announced today (Jan. 28) and include the following:

  • $19.50 – Friday morning (Canada vs. Denmark)
  • $35.00 – Friday evening (Canada vs. Switzerland), playoff qualification, semifinals and bronze-medal games
