House fire on Zilke Road

A house on Zilke Road had flames coming from the basement and main floor when Prince George Fire Rescue answered the call at about 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

A house on Zilke Road had flames coming from the basement and main floor when Prince George Fire Rescue answered the call at about 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

The two-storey residence at 4598 Zilke Rd. saw crews from three halls quickly extinguish the fire with no other damage done to the surrounding area.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.

No injuries to anyone were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
