There were starts on 16 new single-family homes in Prince George and area last month, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
That's down from four over the same month last year, but the year-to-date total stands at 140, compared to 93 by the same point last year.
And there were starts on 10 units of multiple-family housing in October, compared to zero over the same period last year, and the year-to-date total is now 194, compared to 123 by the end of October 2009.
