The temperatures are consistently dropping into the negatives for Prince George.
Now that the city has also experienced its first snowfall as well, which has created some icy conditions, the city has decided to close a few civic facilities this weekend for the benefit of public safety.
Masich Place Stadium closed on Friday (Oct. 16) to protect the track from potential damage and stay that way for the weekend.
In addition, the city is temporarily closing the public washrooms in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park and Duchess Park, with the possibility of reopening on Monday (Oct. 19).
Signs have been posted at each location.
An updated Masich Place schedule, and other alternatives for walking routes around Prince George can be found on the City’s website.
Monday is also the first day of reopening for the CN Centre’s indoor walking program, which was voted unanimously by council on Oct. 5 to do so.
Residents can book a 90-minute session anytime from two days to two hours in advance.
